R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, James Edward Rose, a decorated veteran of the |
|
Vietnam War and a longtime resident of Irving, passed away on April |
|
11, 2011, at the age of 60; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on October 13, 1950, in Elkins, West Virginia, |
|
to John and Helen Pettit Rose, James Rose came to Irving in 1955; he |
|
joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968 at the age of 17 and |
|
served his country in the Vietnam conflict, receiving numerous |
|
medals and honors for his brave efforts; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Rose enjoyed the love |
|
and support of his wife of 38 years, Linda, and he took pride in a |
|
fine family that included a son, James Edward Rose, Jr., and a |
|
grandson, James Edward Rose III; and |
|
WHEREAS, Devoted to his country and his family, James Rose |
|
lived a caring and purposeful life, and he leaves behind a legacy |
|
that will forever be treasured by all those who held him dear; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Edward Rose |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Linda Rose; to his son, James Edward Rose, Jr.; to his |
|
grandson, James Edward Rose III; to his sisters, Jeanette Burgess |
|
and her husband, Mike, and Helen Johnston and her husband, David; to |
|
his brothers, Johnny Rose and his wife, Brenda, and Bill Gray and |
|
his wife, Lynn; to his brothers-in-law, Donnie Martin and his wife, |
|
Donna, and David Edmiston and his wife, Christy; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James |
|
Edward Rose. |
