R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, After three years of exemplary service, Jonathan
  Neerman of Dallas is stepping down as chair of the Dallas County
  Republican Party on May 2, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Republican voters first elected Mr. Neerman as chair
  of the party in 2008 and returned him to that post in 2010;
  dedicated to conservative principles, he has championed lower
  taxes, limited government, strong national security, and improved
  schools; under his guidance, the party has expanded its dedicated
  network of volunteers and recruited top candidates to run in local
  elections; Mr. Neerman has also succeeded in strengthening the
  party's financial base and in upgrading its technological
  infrastructure; and
         WHEREAS, A native Texan, Jonathan Neerman was raised in
  Dallas and Mesquite, where he graduated first in his class from
  North Mesquite High School in 1992; he went on to earn a bachelor's
  degree in political science from Texas A&M University in 1996 and a
  law degree with honors from The George Washington University Law
  School; while studying law, he held the post of articles editor for
  The George Washington International Law Review; and
         WHEREAS, Following law school, Mr. Neerman served as an
  intelligence officer with the Central Intelligence Agency; during
  his tenure with the CIA, he assisted with the investigation of war
  crimes in Kosovo and Bosnia as part of the Balkans Task Force and
  served with the Counterterrorism Center, providing senior policy
  makers with daily briefings regarding terrorism threats; and
         WHEREAS, An accomplished attorney, Mr. Neerman focuses on
  securities and real estate litigation as an associate in the firm of
  Hunton & Williams; he is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the
  Dallas Bar Association, and the Dallas Association of Young
  Lawyers; in 2007, Texas Monthly named him to its list of Texas
  Rising Stars, a roll of the best young lawyers in the state; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Neerman and his wife, Tricia, are the proud
  parents of two children, Esther and Jonathan; they are valued
  members of Temple Emanu-El, and they attend Shiloh Terrace Baptist
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, Jonathan Neerman has provided outstanding
  leadership to the Dallas County Republican Party, and he is indeed
  worthy of recognition for his hard work and exemplary public
  spirit; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Jonathan Neerman for his service to the
  Dallas County Republican Party and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Neerman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
