R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Alvin and Glenda Burton of Lubbock celebrated their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary on March 31, 2011, and they may indeed |
|
|
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alvin Burton and the former Glenda Dickerson |
|
|
exchanged the vows of matrimony at a ceremony held at First Church |
|
|
of the Nazarene in Lubbock in 1961, and over the course of their |
|
|
marriage, they have found in each other a loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Burton count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes their son Russell Burton as well as their |
|
|
granddaughter, with whom they share the many special occasions of |
|
|
life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For half a century, Alvin and Glenda Burton have |
|
|
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it |
|
|
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alvin and Glenda Burton on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Burtons as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
