R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  death of Mary Helen Torres of Waco, who passed away on March 10,
  2011, at the age of 64; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Waco on September 22, 1946, to Fernando and
  Gregoria Tenorio Torres, Ms. Torres served in the U.S. Army Reserve
  for eight years in the 1970s and later established a career at the
  Veterans Administration Hospital; she worked at the facility for 25
  years and earned an associate's degree in mental health in 1990; and
         WHEREAS, A loving, kind, and compassionate woman, Ms. Torres
  was a devoted mother who had the joy of welcoming two more
  generations of children into her family, and she was an active
  member of St. Francis Catholic Church and of the Cursillo Movement;
  and
         WHEREAS, Although Mary Helen Torres will be deeply missed,
  cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in
  the hearts of all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Helen Torres
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  daughter, Lydia Ann Ochoa; to her grandchildren, Michael, Armando,
  Gregory, Abel Joe, and Lisa; to her great-grandchildren, Gregory,
  Joseph, Noah, Anastazia, Serenity, Armando, and Adam; to her
  sister, Lydia Torres; to her brothers, Fernando Torres, Jr., and
  his wife, Cynthia, and Mike Torres and his wife, Consuelo; to her
  longtime companion, Robert Denny; and to her other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Helen
  Torres.
