R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Randall Zajic retired from the Mesquite Fire |
|
|
Department on April 29, 2011, drawing to a close a notable career as |
|
|
a firefighter and paramedic that spanned nearly three decades; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Terrell High School, Mr. Zajic served |
|
|
as a volunteer firefighter in Terrell before joining the Mesquite |
|
|
Fire Department in April 1984; he went on to earn certification as a |
|
|
paramedic in 1992; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his exemplary 27-year tenure, Mr. |
|
|
Zajic was celebrated for his initiative and heroism; in 1993, he |
|
|
received a mayoral proclamation for his lifesaving efforts in |
|
|
behalf of an elderly man who had suffered a heart attack, and in |
|
|
1995 he was recognized by the department as firefighter of the year; |
|
|
moreover, he earned a Save Award from the Garland Fire Department in |
|
|
1996 for his outstanding performance as a paramedic; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Randy Zajic's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
|
commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly |
|
|
benefited the citizens of Mesquite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on his accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting |
|
|
chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Randall Zajic on his retirement |
|
|
from the Mesquite Fire Department and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Zajic as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
