R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Randall Zajic retired from the Mesquite Fire
  Department on April 29, 2011, drawing to a close a notable career as
  a firefighter and paramedic that spanned nearly three decades; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Terrell High School, Mr. Zajic served
  as a volunteer firefighter in Terrell before joining the Mesquite
  Fire Department in April 1984; he went on to earn certification as a
  paramedic in 1992; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his exemplary 27-year tenure, Mr.
  Zajic was celebrated for his initiative and heroism; in 1993, he
  received a mayoral proclamation for his lifesaving efforts in
  behalf of an elderly man who had suffered a heart attack, and in
  1995 he was recognized by the department as firefighter of the year;
  moreover, he earned a Save Award from the Garland Fire Department in
  1996 for his outstanding performance as a paramedic; and
         WHEREAS, Randy Zajic's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly
  benefited the citizens of Mesquite, and he may indeed reflect with
  pride on his accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting
  chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Randall Zajic on his retirement
  from the Mesquite Fire Department and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Zajic as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
