R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, For 30 years, the University of Houston System at
  Cinco Ranch has been proudly serving the educational needs of the
  Katy/West Houston area; and
         WHEREAS, The facility was donated by the development company
  Cinco Ranch Venture when UH-Cinco Ranch first opened in 1980, and
  students had to drive down a dirt road to reach it; from those
  humble beginnings, the school has grown to offer more than 30 degree
  and certificate programs with plans to add more in the near future;
  and
         WHEREAS, The university is housed in a 36,000-square-foot
  building that includes 20 classrooms, computer labs, a student
  lounge, and videoconferencing rooms; as part of its commitment to
  the future, UH-Cinco Ranch recently enhanced the facility with an
  electronic delivery system for courses, a mobile computer lab,
  library access, and a wireless network; and
         WHEREAS, For 30 years, the faculty and staff of the
  University of Houston System at Cinco Ranch have committed
  themselves to meeting the educational needs of the community, and
  the school has played a vital role in helping many Texans to prepare
  for prosperous careers and to otherwise enrich their lives; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the University of Houston System at
  Cinco Ranch on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and extend to
  its educators and employees sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
