R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The actors and technical crew from Plains High
  School were selected to advance to the University Interscholastic
  League One-Act Play State Meet as a result of their outstanding
  performance at the regional competition on April 16, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, The group's presentation of scenes from Biedermann
  and the Firebugs was praised for its "clarity of language" by judge
  Bob Singleton, who also complimented the visual imagery in the
  production and commended the actors for making interesting
  discoveries within the play; and
         WHEREAS, Guided by advisors Lou Lindsey, Jena Jones, and John
  Harris, the Plains cast includes Dray DeBusk, Stephanie Addison,
  Taylor Fitzgerald, Merrit Crump, Jaxon Bean, Josh Brock, Autumn
  Friesen, Parker Baum, Jose Corrales, Salvador Corrales, Justin
  Esch, Colby Bearden, Roberto Reyna, Matthew Ramos, and Jasmine
  Rivera; the alternates are Whitney Davis, Taylor Michaleson,
  Johnathan Davis, and Katie Dearing; and
         WHEREAS, Several Plains High actors were recognized for their
  excellent performances; Ms. Addison was selected as best actress
  and Mr. DeBusk as best actor, while Ms. Fitzgerald, Mr. Crump, and
  Mr. Bean were named to the all-star cast; in addition, the technical
  team of Dylan DeBusk, Hunter Welch, Zack Wilkins, Jaston Brink, and
  Jacob Neufeld was honored for its outstanding contributions; and
         WHEREAS, Qualifying for the state meet is a rare
  accomplishment that is the culmination of countless hours of hard
  work and an enduring commitment to excellence, and these talented
  young Texans may take justifiable pride in their performance; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the actors and crew from Plains
  High School on their triumph in the regional round of the UIL
  One-Act Play Contest and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
