R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Flower Mound High School Circle of |
|
|
Friends came together at the Grande Ball on April 2, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Circle of Friends aims to foster relationships |
|
|
between students with special needs and their peers, and since its |
|
|
founding, the association has made a significant contribution in |
|
|
the lives of many Flower Mound youths; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The annual Grande Ball celebrates the bonds formed |
|
|
within the group; this year's participants were treated to |
|
|
makeovers, corsages and boutonnieres, and limousine service; |
|
|
entering the event on a red carpet, the honorees and their escorts |
|
|
crossed under a saber arch created by the Flower Mound High School |
|
|
Air Force JROTC; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The evening also featured an Italian meal and |
|
|
dancing, as well as a silent auction that helped to raise money for |
|
|
the organization; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Circle of Friends continues to benefit the Flower |
|
|
Mound community, and its leaders and sponsors helped to make the |
|
|
2011 Grande Ball a cherished memory for all those in attendance; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the Flower Mound High School Circle |
|
|
of Friends 2011 Grande Ball and commend all those associated with |
|
|
this worthwhile initiative; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
