R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Each May, the United States Department of Health and
  Human Services Administration on Aging promotes the observance of
  Older Americans Month, and with the 2011 theme of "Connecting the
  Community," this occasion presents an ideal opportunity to
  recognize the important role played by the residents of Seven Acres
  Jewish Senior Care Services; and
         WHEREAS, The largest not-for-profit long-term care facility
  in Houston, Seven Acres serves more than 300 residents on the
  Pauline Sterne Wolff Campus; members of its population continue to
  contribute to the community in myriad ways, giving generously of
  their time and talents to hospitals, schools, and philanthropic
  organizations; and
         WHEREAS, Numerous residents of Seven Acres benefit their
  fellow citizens through membership in the Retired Senior Volunteer
  Program Club; their example of civic engagement encourages younger
  people to give back to their communities, and Seven Acres provides
  opportunities for students to develop a sense of civic
  responsibility by taking part in the Mitzvah Volunteer Program at
  the facility; and
         WHEREAS, The contributions of older Americans cannot be
  overstated, for their experience and wisdom are vital to the future
  of the Lone Star State; bringing warmth and joy to others, the
  residents of Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services are a source of
  great inspiration, and their participation in the community
  strengthens its fabric immeasurably; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the residents of Seven Acres Jewish Senior
  Care Services on the occasion of Older Americans Month and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Services as an
  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
