R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Victoria Elena Christiansen of Dallas has attained |
|
|
the Girl Scout Gold Award, the organization's highest commendation, |
|
|
and she was honored for her accomplishment in a special ceremony on |
|
|
May 1, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Christiansen |
|
|
successfully met a series of requirements emphasizing community |
|
|
service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and |
|
|
leadership skills; in addition, she planned and implemented a Girl |
|
|
Scout Gold Award project that will have a positive and lasting |
|
|
impact in her community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By helping young women to build confidence, explore |
|
|
career opportunities, and become more socially conscious, the Girl |
|
|
Scout program equips its participants with skills that will benefit |
|
|
them throughout their lives; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Christiansen |
|
|
has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the |
|
|
highest ideals of the Girl Scout organization, and she indeed |
|
|
merits special recognition for her achievement; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Victoria Elena Christiansen on her |
|
|
receipt of the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Christiansen as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
