R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Larry Wheeler of Victoria retired on April 28, 2011, |
|
after a notable tenure as a Walgreens store manager and pharmacist |
|
that spanned nearly four decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Beginning his pharmaceutical career at a Corpus |
|
Christi Walgreens in 1973, Larry Wheeler came to Victoria the |
|
following year; he found the town a natural fit, and opened a new |
|
Walgreens there in 1984; he went on to open three more stores in |
|
1991, 2006, and 2009, including one of the first Walgreens stores to |
|
be located in a freestanding building; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Wheeler was admired by his employees as a caring |
|
and attentive manager who went above and beyond what was required |
|
and who watched out for others; he created many special memories |
|
with his coworkers over the course of his 38 years with Walgreens, |
|
and along the way he inspired countless people who went on to become |
|
pharmacists or managers themselves; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Wheeler enjoys the love |
|
and support of his wife of 44 years, Kathy, and his two children; in |
|
retirement, he looks forward to spending time visiting family, |
|
traveling, and fishing; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Larry Wheeler has set an |
|
outstanding example of professionalism and leadership to which all |
|
may aspire, and he may reflect with justifiable pride on his many |
|
achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Larry Wheeler on his retirement as |
|
a Walgreens store manager and pharmacist and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Wheeler as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
