R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, J. B. and Lorene Woodruff of Midland |
|
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 21, 2011; and |
|
WHEREAS, J. B. Woodruff and the former Lorene Walker were |
|
united in matrimony at Calvary Baptist Church in 1951 in a double |
|
wedding ceremony with their close friends Oran and Peggy Whiteaker; |
|
through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that |
|
has been made even richer with the addition of five children and |
|
their spouses, Tom and Brenda Woodruff, Bonnie and LaGene |
|
Robertson, Patty and Bob Conner, Terrie and Larry Rhodes, and Joel |
|
Ben Woodruff, as well as six grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Midland natives, the Woodruffs lived in Fort Sill, |
|
Oklahoma, while Mr. Woodruff served in the U.S. Army; he retired |
|
from Woodruff Drywall Systems in 1999; Mrs. Woodruff is a dedicated |
|
homemaker, and they are members of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the |
|
Midland Naturalists; and |
|
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the |
|
world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife |
|
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the |
|
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges |
|
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate J. B. and Lorene Woodruff on their |
|
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
