R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, J. B. and Lorene Woodruff of Midland
  celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 21, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, J. B. Woodruff and the former Lorene Walker were
  united in matrimony at Calvary Baptist Church in 1951 in a double
  wedding ceremony with their close friends Oran and Peggy Whiteaker;
  through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that
  has been made even richer with the addition of five children and
  their spouses, Tom and Brenda Woodruff, Bonnie and LaGene
  Robertson, Patty and Bob Conner, Terrie and Larry Rhodes, and Joel
  Ben Woodruff, as well as six grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Midland natives, the Woodruffs lived in Fort Sill,
  Oklahoma, while Mr. Woodruff served in the U.S. Army; he retired
  from Woodruff Drywall Systems in 1999; Mrs. Woodruff is a dedicated
  homemaker, and they are members of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the
  Midland Naturalists; and
         WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
  world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife
  have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
  strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
  and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate J. B. and Lorene Woodruff on their
  60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
