R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The loved ones of Acie John Butler of Houston were |
|
deeply saddened by his passing on April 21, 2011, at the age of 77; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Carthage, Acie Butler had a notable career |
|
with the United States Postal Service that spanned more than three |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, This devoted family man shared many happy years with |
|
his wife, Shirley Handy Butler, with whom he raised 8 children, |
|
Reginald, Rodney, Vincent, John, Michael, Darrell, Cynthia, and |
|
Cheryl; he also shared the affection of 12 grandchildren and 5 |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Acie Butler lived a caring and purposeful life, and |
|
he will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of those |
|
fortunate enough to have shared in his love and friendship; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Acie John Butler and |
|
extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
children, Reginald, Vincent, John, Michael, and Darrell Butler, |
|
Rodney Butler and his wife, Rolanda, Cynthia Young, and Cheryl |
|
Butler-Ware and her husband, Olen; to his 12 grandchildren; to his 5 |
|
great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Acie John |
|
Butler. |
