R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Yolanda Clarke of Travis High School in Richmond has |
|
been named 2011-2012 Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Fort Bend |
|
Independent School District; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Clarke earned her bachelor's degree in English |
|
and journalism from Baylor University, and she has attended Rice |
|
University's Advanced Placement Summer Institute; she has served as |
|
a presenter at several district and state conferences; and |
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary educator with 15 years of experience, |
|
Ms. Clarke has taught 12th-grade English at Travis High School for |
|
the past five years; recognizing the important role that teachers |
|
play in the lives of their students, she works to instill all with |
|
pride in their own worth and accomplishments; and |
|
WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious |
|
resource, and a solid education is vital in order for our young |
|
people to become successful adults; Ms. Clarke exemplifies the |
|
qualities that make a truly great teacher, and she indeed merits |
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Yolanda Clarke of Travis High |
|
School for being named 2011-2012 Secondary Teacher of the Year by |
|
the Fort Bend Independent School District and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Clarke as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
