R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Carlos A. Garcia has distinguished himself through |
|
his service as secretary of the Fort Bend County Democratic Party; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Long engaged in civic life, Mr. Garcia joined the |
|
Southwest Voter Registration Program in 1974; he later served on |
|
numerous committees in the city of Rosenberg, and beginning in the |
|
1990s, he gave generously of his time and talents during county, |
|
state, and national elections for more than a decade; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia has demonstrated his deep commitment to |
|
his community in many ways; a graduate of the Fort Bend Leadership |
|
Program, he has served on the boards of the Rosenberg-Richmond |
|
Chamber of Commerce and the Rosenberg Development Corporation, as a |
|
member of the Fort Bend Hispanic Heritage Forum, and on the Fort |
|
Bend Grand Jury; moreover, he has served as president of the PTO for |
|
the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District and has coached |
|
Rose-Rich softball and YMCA baseball; and |
|
WHEREAS, A respected businessman, Mr. Garcia is the |
|
proprietor and president of C&J Audio, Inc., and an independent |
|
insurance agent as well; and |
|
WHEREAS, Politically engaged citizens play a vital role in |
|
the democratic process in the Lone Star State, and Carlos Garcia may |
|
indeed take pride in his many contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Carlos A. Garcia for his service as |
|
secretary of the Fort Bend County Democratic Party and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
