R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is indeed cause for celebration, |
|
|
and Irene Buchanan marked that special milestone on April 20, 2011; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Victoria, Australia, Irene Buchanan |
|
|
moved with her family from Ireland to Florida, where her father grew |
|
|
grapes; she became the first member to earn a diploma when she |
|
|
graduated from Orlando High School in 1929; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Buchanan shared a rewarding relationship with |
|
|
her husband, Buck; today, she lives in Crane, near her sister, Maise |
|
|
Lee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Irene Buchanan is a source of tremendous |
|
|
inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through a century |
|
|
of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom that |
|
|
benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Irene Buchanan on her 100th birthday and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Buchanan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
