R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, H. E. "Gene" Crump, Jr., is retiring from his |
|
position as deputy executive director of the Texas Workforce |
|
Commission in May 2011, drawing to a close a notable career in |
|
public service that has spanned 35 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of North Carolina, Mr. |
|
Crump earned master's degrees in financial management from the U.S. |
|
Naval Postgraduate School and in strategic studies from the U.S. |
|
Naval War College; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1976, he joined the Department of the Navy, and |
|
during his distinguished 18-year tenure, he served as comptroller |
|
for three naval installations, developing and executing budgets in |
|
excess of $400 million; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Crump went on to work as a budget analyst and |
|
budget officer with the Texas General Services Commission, where he |
|
was promoted to the position of fiscal division director in 1997; he |
|
later brought his wealth of knowledge and experience to the Texas |
|
Workforce Commission, and as deputy executive director, he has |
|
assisted with the day-to-day operations of the agency while |
|
directing the departments that provide core internal services, |
|
including finance, human resources management, and business |
|
operations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Gene Crump has demonstrated professionalism and |
|
dedication throughout his years with the Texas Workforce |
|
Commission, and he has earned the lasting respect of all who have |
|
been privileged to work with him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor H. E. "Gene" Crump, Jr., on his retirement |
|
as deputy executive director of the Texas Workforce Commission and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Crump as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
