R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Texas Travel and Tourism Week is taking place May 7
  through 15, 2011, and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity
  to pay tribute to the exceptional work carried out by the Waco
  Convention & Visitors Bureau; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1983, the Waco CVB has devoted itself
  to raising awareness of the community's many unique attractions,
  including the Waco Suspension Bridge, the Dr Pepper Museum, the
  Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame,
  the Waco Mammoth Site, the Mayborn Museum, and the Cameron Park Zoo;
  and
         WHEREAS, The dedicated professionals of the CVB have excelled
  in their efforts to publicize the city's sights and activities and
  to promote the Heart of Texas area as an inviting destination for
  travelers from inside and outside the state; moreover, the
  organization operates the Waco Tourist Information Center, a
  convenient gateway just off I-35 that allows visitors to quickly
  learn about all that the area has to offer; and
         WHEREAS, Tourism is integral to the well-being of the Heart
  of Texas, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in commerce
  and creating jobs for thousands of residents, and the Waco CVB has
  played an essential role in building and maintaining that important
  segment of the local economy; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau on
  the occasion of Texas Travel and Tourism Week 2011 and extend to its
  staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the bureau as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
