R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  death of Stanley Louis Jahn of Waco on March 28, 2011, at the age of
  80; and
         WHEREAS, Stanley Jahn was born in San Antonio on September 8,
  1930, to William H. and Martha Schindler Jahn; after graduating
  from Waco Technical High School in 1948, he enlisted in the U.S. Air
  Force and served as a photographic laboratory technician from 1949
  to 1950; and
         WHEREAS, Returning home, Mr. Jahn continued his military
  service as a member of the Air Force Reserves, while also working
  for a surveying company and a construction firm and completing a
  four-year carpentry apprenticeship; he joined the Texas Highway
  Department in 1956 and remained there for nearly two decades,
  during which time he earned a degree in architecture from the
  International Correspondence School and became a registered civil
  engineer; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jahn later founded the Jahn Company and, aside
  from a stint with the City of Waco, ran the business until he
  retired in 2006; he was a registered public surveyor and a member of
  the American Society of Civil Engineers; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Jahn enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Norma Jean Jahn, with whom he shared 57
  years; they were the parents of three children, Phil Jahn, Tim Jahn,
  and the late Karen Jahn Villers; and
         WHEREAS, Stanley Jahn was a loving husband, a devoted father
  and grandfather, and a true and loyal friend, and those who were
  privileged to know him will long remember his bright blue eyes and
  ready smile; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Stanley Louis Jahn and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Norma Jean Jahn; to his sons, Phil Jahn and his wife, Cindy,
  and Tim Jahn and his wife, Lisa; to his grandchildren, Casey Villers
  Hoag and her husband, Jared, Matthew Thomas Jahn and Tammara Cook,
  Chandler Jahn, and Brandon Jahn; to his sister, Loretta Barlow; to
  his brother-in-law, Dr. Don Barker; to his nieces, Laura Leach,
  Becky Thomas, and Bretta Green; to his nephew, Burkett Barlow; and
  to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Stanley
  Louis Jahn.
