R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Edna E. |
|
|
Henderson Anderson of Waco, who passed away on April 5, 2011, at the |
|
|
age of 94; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born to Rufus and Amanda Evans on August 1, 1916, in |
|
|
the Rosenthal community of McLennan County, Edna Anderson was a |
|
|
longtime employee of the Waco-McLennan County Library; she secured |
|
|
the library's first bookmobile and drove it herself, and she also |
|
|
played an instrumental role in the establishment of branch |
|
|
libraries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In her free time, Mrs. Anderson wrote three novels |
|
|
and published poetry; she also wrote music and played the violin and |
|
|
guitar; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson enjoyed a fulfilling marriage with her |
|
|
husband, Joe Henderson, and they became the parents of three |
|
|
children, Joe, David, and Paul; after Mr. Henderson's death, this |
|
|
esteemed woman was fortunate enough to find love a second time; she |
|
|
married Burton Anderson and shared her life with him until his |
|
|
passing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Edna Anderson inspired countless people with her |
|
|
love for the written word, her engagement in the world around her, |
|
|
and her generosity of spirit, and she leaves behind a legacy to |
|
|
treasure for those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Edna E. Henderson |
|
|
Anderson and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|
|
family: to her sons, Joe L. Henderson and his wife, Dorinda, David |
|
|
Henderson and his wife, Josfine, and Paul Henderson and his wife, |
|
|
Diane; to her grandchildren and their spouses, Steve, Angela, Clay, |
|
|
Scott and Leslie, Jason and Jennifer, and Stephanie and Mike; to her |
|
|
great-grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Lauren, Heath |
|
|
and Kayla, Crystal, Seth, Jesse, Tyler, and Tyler; to her |
|
|
great-great-grandchildren, Gabby Lou and Cooper; and to her other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Edna |
|
|
Anderson. |
