R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Weslaco and beyond were deeply saddened |
|
by the untimely death of a beloved woman, Janie Cuellar Salinas, on |
|
June 12, 2010, at the age of 43; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Weslaco, Janie Cuellar graduated |
|
from Weslaco High School in 1985 and earned a bachelor's degree from |
|
the University of North Texas in 1989; excelling in everything she |
|
did, she was a hardworking and dedicated employee for a number of |
|
businesses over the course of her life, and she was very involved in |
|
politics as well, campaigning successfully for family members, |
|
including her husband, former Hidalgo County judge J. D. Salinas |
|
III; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Salinas was a woman of strong faith who was |
|
active in Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg and in Holy |
|
Family Catholic Church in Fort Worth, where she had recently moved |
|
with her family and had already established many friendships with |
|
her positive, outgoing nature; and |
|
WHEREAS, She enjoyed cooking and scrapbooking, and most of |
|
all being a mother; she regularly participated in her children's |
|
activities, as well as in races benefiting various organizations |
|
and in fund-raising for Relay for Life; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Salinas enjoyed the |
|
love and support of her husband and her children, Nicholas, |
|
Samantha, Victoria, Gianna, and Gabriella; and |
|
WHEREAS, Devotion to her family and community formed the |
|
foundation on which this highly respected Texan built her life, and |
|
she will long be remembered by her loved ones and by all those whose |
|
lives she touched; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Janie Cuellar |
|
Salinas and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|
family: to her husband, J. D. Salinas III; to her children, |
|
Nicholas, Samantha, Victoria, Gianna, and Gabriella Salinas; to her |
|
brothers and sisters; and to her other relatives and many friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Janie |
|
Cuellar Salinas. |
