R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Amanda Miller is celebrating a significant
  milestone in her life on May 13, 2011, when she graduates from Texas
  A&M University with a degree in university studies--leadership; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of New Braunfels High School, Ms. Miller
  earned a softball scholarship to Blinn College in Brenham, where
  she began her higher education and became a valued member of the
  Buccaneer softball team and manager of the 2009 national
  championship volleyball team; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Miller transferred in 2009 to Texas A&M, where
  she has further distinguished herself in her studies toward her
  major as well as toward minors in geography and communications;
  moreover, she has served her peers as director of the Leadership
  Fellows and as manager of the A&M softball team; and
         WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has benefited from the
  support of a loving family, including her mother, Anne Miller, and
  her father, State Representative Doug Miller, whose public service
  has inspired her passion for politics; and
         WHEREAS, Amanda Miller has demonstrated a level of commitment
  that will continue to serve her well in the years ahead, and it is a
  pleasure to recognize her as she prepares to embark on an exciting
  new chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Amanda Miller on her graduation
  from Texas A&M University and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Miller as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
