R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the loss of U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Jeffrey Warren Johnson of
  Tomball, who died on May 11, 2010, at the age of 21; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment,
  1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Corporal Johnson
  was based at Camp Pendleton, California; he was killed in action
  while bravely serving his nation in Afghanistan; and
         WHEREAS, Jeffrey Johnson continued a family tradition of
  military service by enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps in July 2007,
  shortly after graduating from Waller High School; following boot
  camp, he trained as an antitank assault guided missileman before
  traveling to Asia for his first deployment; and
         WHEREAS, Among the military awards conferred on Corporal
  Johnson were the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the
  National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the
  Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Sea Service
  Deployment Ribbon; and
         WHEREAS, Known for his wit and sense of humor, Corporal
  Johnson was an avid hunter, as well as a fan of NASCAR and Ford
  trucks; after completing his military service, he planned to attend
  The University of Texas before pursuing his dream of becoming a game
  warden; and
         WHEREAS, Jeffrey Johnson was a loving and devoted husband to
  his wife, Katy, a caring son, and a loyal brother; his family meant
  the world to him, and he, to them; and
         WHEREAS, Corporal Jeffrey Johnson embodied the marine corps
  values of honor, courage, and commitment, and all who knew this
  brave young Texan will forever remember him with admiration and
  gratitude; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Marine Corps
  Corporal Jeffrey Warren Johnson and extend deepest sympathy to the
  members of his family: to his wife, Katy Anguish; to his father and
  stepmother, Jerry and Kelly Johnson; to his mother, Dawn Hardwick;
  to his sisters, Ashtian Bennett and Kassidy Johnson; to his
  brother, Jason Martin; to his grandmothers, Delores Campbell and
  Glenda Schneider; to his grandfathers, John Farmer and Jerry Tyner;
  and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Corporal
  Jeffrey Johnson.
