R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Joel Maurice Peter Lebovitz of Dallas, who died on February 20,
  2011, at the age of 41; and
         WHEREAS, Joel Lebovitz was born in Dallas on February 4,
  1970, to Robert M. Lebovitz and Joyce Guberman Lebovitz; he
  graduated from Skyline High School in 1988 and went on to attend
  junior college in Austin; and
         WHEREAS, Returning to his hometown, Mr. Lebovitz and two
  partners created the Thomas Avenue Beverage Company in 1995 near
  what is now the State Thomas Historic District; the pub became a
  great success, and he and his partners later opened the 2900
  Restaurant; he befriended many patrons through the years, endearing
  himself to them and others with his vibrant smile and kind nature;
  in addition, he was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who could often be
  found hunting or fishing; and
         WHEREAS, Joel Lebovitz touched the lives of countless people
  with his hospitality and generosity of spirit, and he will forever
  be remembered by all those who were privileged to know him; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joel Maurice Peter
  Lebovitz and that sincere condolences be extended to the members of
  his family: to his father, Dr. Robert M. Lebovitz; to his
  stepmother, Joyce Sanders; to his brothers, Mark Lebovitz and his
  wife, Michelle, and Richard Lebovitz and his wife, Angelita; to his
  nephews, Elliot, Alec, and Vincent; to his niece, Danielle; to his
  stepbrothers, Michael LoSasso and his wife, Donna, and Craig
  LoSasso and his wife, Jean; to his step-nephews and step-nieces,
  Michael, Nicholas, Aidan, Lydia, Abriana, and Cooper; to his
  uncles, Alan Lebovitz and his wife, Marjorie, and Todd, Bruce, and
  Stan Guberman; to his aunts, Barbara Lebow and her husband, Max, and
  Audrey Simmons; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joel
  Lebovitz.
