R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The observance of Probation, Parole, and Community |
|
|
Supervision Week on July 17-23, 2011, offers a fitting opportunity |
|
|
to recognize the Dallas County Community Supervision and |
|
|
Corrections Department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A professional criminal justice agency, the Dallas |
|
|
County CSCD serves the public under the authority of the criminal |
|
|
judiciary system, supervising more than 53,000 clients on a daily |
|
|
basis; the department enforces court-ordered conditions of |
|
|
community supervision and provides offenders with a wide array of |
|
|
rehabilitative services and resources; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Michael E. Noyes leads a CSCD workforce of more |
|
|
than 630; the staff works diligently to carry out its mission to |
|
|
safeguard the public from criminal activity, provide services, |
|
|
support, and protection for victims, and facilitate positive |
|
|
changes in offender behavior through the use of evidence-based |
|
|
intervention strategies; playing a vital role in the criminal |
|
|
justice system, community corrections professionals also work in |
|
|
partnership with community agencies and groups and advocate for |
|
|
community and restorative justice; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the staff of the Dallas County |
|
|
Community Supervision and Corrections Department have demonstrated |
|
|
exceptional dedication to their mission, and their efforts have |
|
|
earned the gratitude and appreciation of their fellow citizens; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby join in recognizing July 17-23, 2011, as |
|
|
Probation, Parole, and Community Supervision Week and extend to the |
|
|
staff and administration of the Dallas County Community Supervision |
|
|
and Corrections Department sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in their important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Dallas County CSCD as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
