R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Matilde Apodaca of Socorro passed away on March 17, |
|
2011, at the age of 78, leaving her circle of family and friends to |
|
cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and |
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Socorro and a member of La |
|
Purisima Parish, Mrs. Apodaca was born on June 14, 1932; she enjoyed |
|
the companionship of a brother, Ricardo Carbajal, and a sister, |
|
Margarita Jurado; and |
|
WHEREAS, Matilde Apodaca was the beloved wife of Elizario |
|
"Chayo" Apodaca, with whom she shared 54 rewarding years of |
|
marriage; she and her husband became the proud parents of five |
|
treasured children, Becky, Delia, Gina, Roland, and Valerie, and |
|
over the years they delighted in seeing their family grow to include |
|
five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in the love and |
|
friendship of Matilde Apodaca will always remember her with great |
|
tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Matilde Apodaca and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
husband, Elizario "Chayo" Apodaca; to her children and their |
|
spouses, Becky and Tito Lujan, Delia and Kenneth Schwartz, Gina and |
|
Henry Moss, Roland and Cecilia Apodaca, and Valerie and Henry |
|
Martinez; to her grandchildren, Gilbert, Ashley, and Justin Lujan, |
|
Jonathan Moss, and Roland Apodaca, Jr.; to her great-grandchildren, |
|
Luke and Camilla; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Matilde |
|
Apodaca. |
