R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Missouri City has greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of the Honorable Allen Owen, who was elected |
|
|
mayor in 1994; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Owen has also served as a planning and zoning |
|
|
commissioner, a council member, and mayor pro tempore; with his |
|
|
wife of 41 years, Jane, he has lived in the city for more than three |
|
|
decades and raised three children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Owen, who works as a market area district |
|
|
manager with Wells Fargo, is actively involved with the Fort Bend |
|
|
County Women's Center, literacy council, chamber of commerce, and |
|
|
county fair association; a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State |
|
|
University and Southern Methodist University, he is the chair of |
|
|
the business advisory council of Asian American Family Services, a |
|
|
lifetime vice president and director of the Houston Livestock Show |
|
|
and Rodeo, and the vice chair of the Fort Bend Community Justice |
|
|
Council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day public servants improve the quality of life |
|
|
for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts of |
|
|
Allen Owen are helping to make Missouri City an even better place in |
|
|
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Mayor Allen Owen for his committed public |
|
|
service and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mayor Owen as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
