R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The city of Rosenberg has greatly benefited from the
  dedicated leadership of the Honorable Joe M. Gurecky, who has
  served the community as mayor since 1999; and
         WHEREAS, The longest-serving mayor in the city's history,
  Mayor Gurecky was elected to represent District 4 on the city
  council in 1995 and became mayor four years later; he is a
  third-generation resident of Rosenberg who worked as a
  manufacturing manager at Baroid Industrial Drilling Projects for
  more than 25 years before founding Gurecky Manufacturing Service,
  Inc., in 1983; he has also farmed and raised cattle in Fort Bend
  County for four decades; and
         WHEREAS, Joe Gurecky has been active in many civic
  organizations, serving as a director of the OakBend Medical Center,
  the chair of the Holy Rosary Catholic School capital campaign, the
  president of the planning and zoning commission, and a member of the
  board of regents of Texas State Technical College; in addition, he
  was named the businessperson of the year in 2002 by the local
  chamber of commerce and he is a life member of the Fort Bend County
  Fair Association; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
  support of his wife, Doris; and
         WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
  life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts
  of Joe Gurecky as mayor and as a city councilman have helped to make
  Rosenberg an even better place in which to live and work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Mayor Joe M. Gurecky for his many years of
  service to the citizens of Rosenberg and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Gurecky as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
