R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, U.S. Army Private Heather Row has successfully |
|
completed her first year as a member of the nation's armed forces; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, This patriotic 19-year-old knew that she wanted to |
|
serve in the military after witnessing the tragic events of 9/11 on |
|
television while she was in the fourth grade; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Row eventually fulfilled that goal by enlisting |
|
in the U.S. Army and went on to receive basic training at Fort |
|
Leonard Wood, Missouri, where she learned to love the discipline |
|
and commitment that military life involves; and |
|
WHEREAS, Private Row is currently on medical leave as she |
|
recovers from knee surgery, but hopes to return to her unit soon; |
|
following her military service, she plans to apply to the Federal |
|
Bureau of Investigation; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Private Row enjoys the love |
|
and support of her parents, Shelley and Duane Row, and her brother, |
|
Ryan; and |
|
WHEREAS, There is no higher calling than a young American's |
|
desire to serve her country, and with her decision, Heather Row has |
|
demonstrated courage, dedication, and devotion to duty; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Private Heather Row for her desire to |
|
serve her nation and extend to her sincere best wishes for a full |
|
recovery and a quick return to duty; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Private Row as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
