R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Edgar Morales was selected to participate in the
  2011 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program, and during the
  82nd Legislative Session, he has ably served his fellow Texans as an
  aide in the office of State Representative Rafael Anchia; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
  Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding university
  students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time
  policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American
  Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the Texas
  Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Juan and Martha Morales, Edgar Morales
  came from Reynosa, Mexico, to McAllen with his family in pursuit of
  the American Dream; he attended public schools and graduated with
  honors in 2008 from The University of Texas--Pan American in
  Edinburg with a double major in political science and history and a
  minor in English, also studying abroad in England and Spain; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Morales has interned with the Mission
  Consolidated Independent School District and with United States
  Congressman Henry Cuellar; he plans to earn a graduate degree in
  public administration and hopes ultimately to work in government as
  an advocate for minorities; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure at the State Capitol,
  Mr. Morales has been of great assistance to Representative Anchia's
  office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing citizens of the
  Lone Star State; he has performed his duties as a legislative aide
  with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and he may indeed look
  forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Edgar Morales as a participant in the 2011
  Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership Program and commend him for
  his notable contributions to the legislative process; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Morales as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
