R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Valerie Lila Danielle Vera was selected to
  participate in the 2011 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership
  Program, and during the 82nd Legislative Session, she has ably
  served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of State
  Representative Eddie Rodriguez; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American Legislative
  Leadership Foundation, the program offers outstanding university
  students and recent graduates an opportunity to serve as full-time
  policy interns in the offices of members of the Mexican American
  Legislative Caucus and gain experience working with the Texas
  Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Marietta Stahl and David Daniel
  Vera, Valerie Vera was born and raised in Brownsville, where she
  developed a strong interest in Mexican American culture; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Vera is currently majoring in English, with an
  emphasis in creative writing, at Texas State University--San
  Marcos; she is also pursuing a minor in Spanish and plans to earn a
  master's degree in Mexican American studies; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at the State Capitol,
  Ms. Vera has been of great assistance to Representative Rodriguez's
  office, while acquiring knowledge of issues facing citizens of the
  Lone Star State; she has performed her duties as a legislative aide
  with skill, perseverance, and dedication, and she may indeed look
  forward to a rewarding future; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Valerie Lila Danielle Vera as a
  participant in the 2011 Moreno/Rangel Legislative Leadership
  Program and commend her for her notable contributions to the
  legislative process; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Vera as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
