R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating great skill and determination, the
  boys' swimming and diving team of Carroll High School in Southlake
  won the University Interscholastic League 5A state championship
  with an outstanding performance at the state meet on February 18 and
  19, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Facing the best talent in the state at The
  University of Texas Swim Center in Austin, the Dragons scored an
  impressive 255 points, beating runner-up Conroe High School by a
  margin of 74; and
         WHEREAS, Bryce Klein placed first in diving with a score of
  562.75, a new school record; another key to the state title triumph
  was Carroll High's fine efforts in the relay events, with the
  400-meter freestyle team of Ted Singley, John Ausdenmoore, Ryan
  Walker, and Connor Nolan placing third and the 200-meter freestyle
  squad of Mr. Singley, Mr. Ausdenmoore, Curtis Goss, and John
  Rematta placing fourth; moreover, Mr. Nolan, Mr. Goss, Mr.
  Ausdenmoore, and Mr. Walker finished fifth in the 200-meter medley
  relay, setting another school record; all of these swimmers also
  took part in individual events, as did Jonathan Roberts, who was
  eighth in the 500-meter freestyle; highlights included the
  second-place showing by Mr. Nolan in the 200-meter freestyle and
  the strong swims in the 500-meter freestyle by Mr. Singley and Mr.
  Nolan, who finished second and third, respectively; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
  culmination of countless hours of hard work and an enduring
  commitment to excellence, and these talented student-athletes and
  their coach, Kevin Murphy, may take justifiable pride in this
  accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Carroll High School boys'
  swimming and diving team on winning the 2010-2011 UIL 5A state
  championship and extend to its members sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
