R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses are vital to |
|
the economic well-being of Texas communities, and in 2011, |
|
FigDesign in Irving is celebrating 25 years as a design and |
|
marketing firm; and |
|
WHEREAS, David Fiegenschue, a graduate of the University of |
|
Dallas and Texas Christian University, founded FigDesign in 1986; |
|
the company specializes in creating a visual identity for |
|
businesses across various media; its projects include designing |
|
logos, annual reports, marketing literature, and websites; and |
|
WHEREAS, Among FigDesign's current and former clients are |
|
Astadia, Centex Homes, Cyrix Corporation, Verizon, the Shakespeare |
|
Festival of Dallas, Texas Instruments, the Greater Irving-Las |
|
Colinas Chamber of Commerce, and many others; Mr. Fiegenschue's |
|
work has been featured in Print magazine's Regional Design Annual, |
|
the Dallas Show, the TOPS Show, and the Society for Technical |
|
Communication's Technical Art Competition, where his designs have |
|
twice won Best in Show; and |
|
WHEREAS, FigDesign is located in the historic Caldwell House |
|
in Irving's Heritage District; the former home of Irving mayor C. P. |
|
Caldwell, the house was restored by Mr. Fiegenschue and his wife and |
|
business partner, Kathy, and recognized with a historical marker |
|
during the city's centennial celebration in 2002; the couple work |
|
in this picturesque setting in the company of their "loyal |
|
employee" Rocky, a black Labrador retriever; and |
|
WHEREAS, For a quarter of a century, FigDesign has provided |
|
high quality service to businesses and organizations throughout the |
|
area, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor owners David and Kathy |
|
Fiegenschue on the occasion of this milestone year; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of FigDesign |
|
and extend sincere best wishes to David and Kathy Fiegenschue and |
|
their staff for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Ms. Fiegenschue as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
