R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A skilled group of athletes brought the 2011 season
  to a triumphant conclusion as the boys' golf team of Lake Travis
  High School captured the 2011 University Interscholastic League 4A
  state title with an exceptional performance at the Jimmy Clay Golf
  Course in Austin on May 9 and 10; and
         WHEREAS, The Cavaliers posted an overall score in the state
  tournament of 20-over-par 596, besting their closest competitor by
  7 strokes; and
         WHEREAS, The Lake Travis team was led by Joe Beck III, who
  shot a 73-70-143 to become the 4A individual champion; Tayler
  Termeer finished two strokes behind Mr. Beck, tying another golfer
  for the tournament's second-best score, and he claimed the silver
  medal after a playoff; Klein Klotz finished fifth with 148, while
  Austin Sholtis shot 160 and Brandon Pederson totaled 161; and
         WHEREAS, In winning their school's first golf championship
  since 1997, the Cavaliers were guided by head coach Randy Morris and
  assistant coach Eric Henson; and
         WHEREAS, Through hard work and an enduring commitment to
  excellence, the Lake Travis High School boys' golf team reached the
  pinnacle of success during the 2011 season, and these dedicated
  student-athletes may take justifiable pride in this
  accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Lake Travis High School boys'
  golf team on winning the UIL 4A state championship and extend
  sincere best wishes to its players and coaches for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
