R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Bethany Noel Harper is celebrating a significant
  milestone in her life on May 27, 2011, when she graduates from
  Kaufman High School; and
         WHEREAS, Excelling academically, Ms. Harper is finishing her
  senior year in the top 25 percent of her class; she has participated
  in a number of activities, helping to coordinate the prom and
  serving as editor of the yearbook for three years and as class
  president during her junior year and vice president during her
  senior year, and her enthusiasm and tireless efforts have recently
  earned her the title of Most Spirited; her plans for the future
  include attending a local college to work on a degree in elementary
  education, an endeavor that will be aided by a scholarship awarded
  to her by the Alpha Tau teachers sorority; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Harper is a valued member of Point View Baptist
  Church of Combine; active in several worthwhile ministries, she has
  volunteered her time to the Genesis Women's Shelter, assembled
  water filters to help provide fresh water to individuals in need,
  assisted with backyard Vacation Bible School, and helped
  disadvantaged area residents by assisting in giving clothing and
  food to the homeless and facilitating children's Christmas parties;
  in her free time, she enjoys cycling, and she has taken part in a
  number of charity rides; and
         WHEREAS, Bethany Harper is an outstanding young Texan who has
  made impressive contributions to her school and her community, and
  it is a pleasure to honor her as she prepares to embark on the next
  exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Bethany Noel Harper on her
  graduation from Kaufman High School and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Harper as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
