R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, June 18, 2011, signals the beginning of a new
  chapter in the lives of Jenny Rebecca Sykes and Travis Miller
  Griffin, for on that day they are exchanging their wedding vows and
  embarking on a rewarding journey together as husband and wife; and
         WHEREAS, Jenny Rebecca Sykes and Travis Miller Griffin are
  being joined in matrimony at St. David's Episcopal Church in
  Austin, with the Reverend Ken Malcolm officiating; sharing in the
  celebration are the couple's parents, Kenneth Griffin and Mary
  Griffin and Steve and Kay Sykes, and other loved ones, including
  matron of honor Meghan Richardson Riney, bridesmaids Megan Abney,
  Andrea Antal, Rosalind Griffin, Pasha Moore, Amy Obenhaus, Patty
  O'Donnell, and Jennifer Rieck, flower girl Alena Griffin, house
  party members Erin Abney, Amanda Baker, Kerry Keena, Ellie Twyman,
  Summer Twyman, and Alina Williams, best man Christopher Leonard,
  groomsmen Bill Bragg, Marc Ergang, Chris Jackson, Cory Kennedy,
  Bill Noble, Keats Norfleet, and Bob Springer, and ushers Darren
  Barker, David Blankenship, Stephen Frankmann, Jack Ladd, Chris
  Sykes, and Eric Sykes; and
         WHEREAS, Originally from Houston, Mr. Griffin is the
  political director of the Republican Party of Texas, while
  Ms. Sykes, originally from Dallas, is the director of finance and
  organization for the Michael Williams for United States Senate
  Committee; and
         WHEREAS, The two met through mutual friends on the groom's
  return to Texas after a brief stint living in the state of Missouri
  and soon discovered that not only did they both work in politics,
  but they were also neighbors in the same southwest Austin apartment
  community; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Sykes and Mr. Griffin became the best of friends
  over the course of the next two years and eventually started dating,
  followed by an engagement three years later, proving that you
  really can marry your best friend; the couple plan to reside in
  Austin after the wedding; and
         WHEREAS, This blessed event marks a profound deepening of a
  relationship that has grown in friendship, love, respect, faith in
  Jesus Christ, and mutual regard with each passing day, and it is
  truly a pleasure to honor this fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jenny Rebecca Sykes and Travis
  Miller Griffin on the joyous occasion of their wedding and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for a lifetime of happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
