R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Officer Diane Bartek retired from the Richardson
  Police Department on February 28, 2010, drawing to a close a notable
  tenure with the department that spanned nearly three decades; and
         WHEREAS, Officer Bartek worked primarily in the patrol and
  investigative divisions, and at the time of her retirement, she
  served as a senior police training officer; she excelled in this
  role, with many of her trainees going on to become supervisors or
  command officers; in addition, she served for a time in the planning
  section, playing an essential part in policy development and
  revisions that led to the department's recognition by the Texas
  Police Chiefs Association; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding law enforcement professional today
  contributes her expertise and experience to The University of Texas
  at Dallas Police Department, where she is a lieutenant in charge of
  patrol operations; and
         WHEREAS, Diane Bartek's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to the safety and welfare of the public greatly
  benefited the citizens of Richardson and earned her the respect and
  admiration of her fellow officers, and it is indeed a pleasure to
  honor her at this time; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Diane Bartek on her retirement from
  the Richardson Police Department and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lieutenant Bartek as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
