R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Dan White retired as a full-time member of |
|
the Richardson Police Department on January 31, 2010, after nearly |
|
three decades of service to the department; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of J. J. Pearce High School in |
|
Richardson, Mr. White earned his bachelor's degree in criminal |
|
justice at The University of Texas at Arlington before joining the |
|
Richardson Police Department in 1980; and |
|
WHEREAS, Officer White initially worked in the patrol |
|
division and then served for a time as an undercover narcotics |
|
officer; he was subsequently assigned to the criminal |
|
investigations division, where for the next 20 years he focused on |
|
crimes against persons, burglary and theft, and youth crimes; along |
|
the way, he served on two Federal Bureau of Investigation task |
|
forces; he is certified as a master peace officer, and he was named |
|
patrolman of the year for 1984 and investigator of the year for |
|
1996; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding law enforcement professional |
|
continues to work part-time as a neighborhood police officer on the |
|
west side of the city, where he grew up; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dan White's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly |
|
benefited the citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed reflect |
|
with pride on his accomplishments even as he continues to serve; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Dan White on his retirement as a |
|
full-time officer with the Richardson Police Department and extend |
|
to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Officer White as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
