R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Tommy Ellis retired from the Richardson |
|
Police Department on September 30, 2010, drawing to a close a |
|
notable career with the department that spanned nearly three |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis initially served as an officer in the |
|
patrol and investigative divisions; after winning promotion to |
|
sergeant in 1994, he served as a supervisor in the patrol division |
|
and the traffic unit; he further distinguished himself as the head |
|
of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team for 15 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding peace officer continues to serve |
|
the public today as a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Ellis's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to the safety and welfare of the public greatly |
|
benefited the citizens of Richardson, and he may indeed reflect |
|
with pride on his outstanding tenure with RPD; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sergeant Tommy Ellis on his |
|
retirement from the Richardson Police Department and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Sergeant Ellis as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
