R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Helen L. Greathouse Children's Center in Midland
  is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding in 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Established in October 1985 on the Midland College
  campus, the center serves MC students and employees and members of
  the Midland community; it was renamed in 1996 in honor of
  philanthropist Helen Greathouse, a longtime generous benefactor of
  the college, and relocated in 2009 from its original building to a
  new 8,000-square-foot facility; in addition to its primary focus,
  the center serves as a training resource for child development,
  psychology, and nursing students, as well as local child-care
  providers; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of director Rita Stotts and
  assistant director Tanya Primera, the center employs 12 teachers, 5
  assistant teachers, and 5 part-time students and enrolls 85
  children, ranging in age from four months to five years; and
         WHEREAS, For a quarter of a century, the Greathouse
  Children's Center has served as a high quality home away from home
  for the children of both students and professionals, and it is
  indeed a pleasure to recognize the center's proud tradition of
  excellence; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Helen L.
  Greathouse Children's Center and extend to all those associated
  with the institution sincere best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
