R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm has come to an
  end with the passing of Judy Letitia Bales of Waco on April 18,
  2011, at the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, Judy Bales was born on January 21, 1928, and she
  learned the virtue of hard work and determination early in life,
  working as a soda fountain clerk at the age of 12 and then being
  employed in an aircraft factory during World War II; she went on to
  become the accountant and manager for a family medical practice and
  the owner of a marketing and printing company; and
         WHEREAS, After retirement, Mrs. Bales converted her passion
  for playing bridge into a profession, and as the owner of a bridge
  club, she forged many friendships with the club's members; she
  participated in games until only a short time before her death; and
         WHEREAS, Widowed twice, Mrs. Bales found great comfort in the
  love and support of her son, Daniel, and in her "daughter," Marlena;
  and
         WHEREAS, Judy Bales embraced life wholeheartedly, treasuring
  the time she spent in the company of her family and friends, and
  those she leaves behind will in turn cherish their memories of this
  kind and caring woman; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Judy Letitia Bales and
  extend sincere condolences to her many loved ones, including Daniel
  Joe Bourne, Sr., Marlena Rae Johnson, and her grandchildren; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Judy
  Letitia Bales.
