R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
  temper the profound sadness felt at the death of Bette Pape Skinner
  of Waco, who passed away on April 18, 2011, at the age of 93; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Tulsa on February 8, 1918, Bette Pape
  graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1935 and attended
  Stephens College and the University of Tulsa; she married Bill
  Reynolds in 1937, and they made their home first in Houston and
  later in Corpus Christi and became the parents of two sons, Burke
  and Mark; and
         WHEREAS, An outgoing individual who delighted in the company
  of her friends, Mrs. Skinner worked as an interior decorator and
  volunteered at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Corpus
  Christi and at charitable organizations in the area; she married
  Scott Skinner in 1960, and the couple enjoyed a number of years
  together until Mr. Skinner's passing; she moved to Waco in 2000,
  joining St. Alban's Episcopal Church and the St. Alban's Guild and
  helping at the Fuzzy Friends Rescue shelter; and
         WHEREAS, While the passing of Bette Skinner has brought great
  sorrow to her family and friends, she has left behind a legacy that
  will long be treasured by all those who held her dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bette Pape Skinner and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son,
  Mark Reynolds, and his wife, Elaine; to her grandchildren, Lori
  Martin, Becky Reynolds, Shelley Buhner, Ryan Reynolds, Reagan
  Rowland, Ashley Brooks, and David Rhoden; to her nine
  great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bette Pape
  Skinner.
