R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may |
|
temper the profound sadness that the death of Susie Margaret Sugg |
|
McNamara of Waco on April 20, 2011, at the age of 95, brings to all |
|
who loved her; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on December 1, 1915, to William and Daisy Sugg |
|
in Huntsville, Alabama, the former Margaret Sugg moved to Waco with |
|
her family at the age of six; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1942, she married T. P. McNamara of Bosqueville, |
|
and they shared a fulfilling relationship that endured until his |
|
death; together they became the parents of three children, Mike, |
|
Parnell, and Betti Rose; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. McNamara was a founding member of Lakewood |
|
Christian Church, and she was also active in the Waco Symphony |
|
Association, the Waco Cotton Palace Association, and the Waco |
|
Coterie Club; she learned to ski at the age of 18, starting a |
|
lifelong passion for the sport that she shared with her husband and |
|
family on the slopes of Colorado, Austria, and Switzerland; and |
|
WHEREAS, Margaret McNamara distinguished herself with her |
|
adventurous spirit and devotion to her family, faith, and |
|
community, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to |
|
inspire all those who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Susie Margaret Sugg |
|
McNamara and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|
family: to her sons, Mike McNamara and Parnell McNamara; to her |
|
five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and to her other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Margaret |
|
McNamara. |
