H.R. No. 2216

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Geraldine Howard of Waco, who passed away on April 18, 2011, at the age of 91; and

WHEREAS, Born on December 16, 1919, in Crockett, the former Geraldine Hanson was the daughter of Clarence and Oda Hanson; she graduated from Baylor University and spent the majority of her career as an educator with the Waco Independent School District; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Hanson exchanged wedding vows with Charles Leslie Howard in June 1942 at a ceremony held in Italy, Texas, and they shared a rewarding union until his death; Mrs. Howard was blessed with a daughter, Lynda, and over the years she happily watched her family grow to include a grandson and four great-granddaughters; and

WHEREAS, This treasured woman touched many lives during her time on this earth, and those who were privileged to share in her love and friendship will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Geraldine Howard and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her daughter, Lynda Hunter, and her husband, Thomas C. Hunter III; to her grandson, Thomas C. Hunter IV, and his wife, Lisa; to her great-granddaughters, Laura, Emily, Allison, and Elizabeth; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Geraldine Howard.
