R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Maria Emma Castro of Waco, who passed away on April 17, 2011, at |
|
the age of 88; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on February 26, 1923, in Rosebud to Francisco |
|
and Concha Rivera Segovia, the former Maria Segovia was one of eight |
|
children; she married Antonio Castro in Waco in 1944, and the couple |
|
welcomed two children into their family before his passing; and |
|
WHEREAS, A retired seamstress, Mrs. Castro was a member of |
|
Sacred Heart Catholic Church and First Spanish Assembly of God and |
|
also participated with the Sociedad Mutualista Mexicana de |
|
Jornaleros; and |
|
WHEREAS, Maria Castro lived a caring and purposeful life, and |
|
those who were privileged to share in the joy of her company will |
|
forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maria Emma Castro |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|
children, Tony Castro and his wife, Renee LaSalle, and Dora |
|
Rodriguez and her husband, Pat Rodriguez; to her grandchildren, |
|
Angela Dawn Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Trey LaSalle-Castro, and |
|
Ryan LaSalle-Castro; to her brother, Jesse Segovia and his wife, |
|
Modesta; to her sisters, Reyna Ursua and her husband, Luciano, and |
|
Lydia Perez; to her sister-in-law, Matilda Castro; and to her other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Maria Emma |
|
Castro. |
