R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and A. J. and Mickey |
|
|
Uptmore celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on April |
|
|
27, 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Uptmore were joined in matrimony in |
|
|
1946 at a ceremony held in Waco at the home of the bride's parents; |
|
|
through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family |
|
|
that includes three children and their spouses, Danny and Vicki |
|
|
Uptmore, Terry and Danida Uptmore, and Brenda and Jerry Smith, as |
|
|
well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of the China Spring area for most of their |
|
|
married life, the Uptmores are highly respected for their service |
|
|
to their church, to local schools, and to the wider community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Uptmore have enjoyed six and a half |
|
|
decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are |
|
|
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a |
|
|
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate A. J. and Mickey Uptmore on their |
|
|
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Uptmore as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
