R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
  generosity of Norvil Lavel Flatt, who passed away on April 20, 2011,
  at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Mills County to Cortis and Iola Newton Flatt
  on December 31, 1929, Norvil Flatt was a veteran of the United
  States Army and worked as a rancher; in 1954, he and the former
  Bonnie Cole were married in Devine, and they were blessed with 56
  years together; the couple saw their family grow to include two
  children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A dedicated member of his church, Mr. Flatt
  volunteered there in many capacities; he could always be counted on
  to help those in need and was well respected in his community; and
         WHEREAS, Norvil Flatt lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around his faith and his family, and he will long be
  remembered with deep affection by all who were privileged to know
  him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Norvil Lavel Flatt
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Bonnie Flatt; to his daughter, Debbie Flatt Dunn, and her
  husband, Gary; to his son, Tom Flatt, and his wife, Wanda; to his
  grandchildren, Jennifer and David Dunn, and Jackie and Rachel
  Flatt; to his great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brittany Dunn; to his
  siblings, Wyverne Flatt and his wife, Jeanie, Beth Phillips and her
  husband, Claiborne, Dorotha Jorgenson, Pierce Flatt and his wife,
  Nell, Faye Howard and her husband, Charles, and Gwen Coffelt and her
  husband, Rex; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Norvil
  Flatt.
