R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and |
|
generosity of Norvil Lavel Flatt, who passed away on April 20, 2011, |
|
at the age of 81; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Mills County to Cortis and Iola Newton Flatt |
|
on December 31, 1929, Norvil Flatt was a veteran of the United |
|
States Army and worked as a rancher; in 1954, he and the former |
|
Bonnie Cole were married in Devine, and they were blessed with 56 |
|
years together; the couple saw their family grow to include two |
|
children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, A dedicated member of his church, Mr. Flatt |
|
volunteered there in many capacities; he could always be counted on |
|
to help those in need and was well respected in his community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Norvil Flatt lived a rich and purposeful life |
|
centered around his faith and his family, and he will long be |
|
remembered with deep affection by all who were privileged to know |
|
him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Norvil Lavel Flatt |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Bonnie Flatt; to his daughter, Debbie Flatt Dunn, and her |
|
husband, Gary; to his son, Tom Flatt, and his wife, Wanda; to his |
|
grandchildren, Jennifer and David Dunn, and Jackie and Rachel |
|
Flatt; to his great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brittany Dunn; to his |
|
siblings, Wyverne Flatt and his wife, Jeanie, Beth Phillips and her |
|
husband, Claiborne, Dorotha Jorgenson, Pierce Flatt and his wife, |
|
Nell, Faye Howard and her husband, Charles, and Gwen Coffelt and her |
|
husband, Rex; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Norvil |
|
Flatt. |
