R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |
|
|
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|
|
of Dora Kate Howell of Waco, who passed away on April 11, 2011, at |
|
|
the age of 96; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Comanche to Andrew and Carrie Turner Palmer |
|
|
on May 29, 1914, the former Dora Kate Palmer was joined in marriage |
|
|
to O. B. Howell, and they shared many happy years together until his |
|
|
passing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Howell loved children and taught preschool at |
|
|
Jack and Jill; she was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church |
|
|
and also sang in the Baylor Senior Adult Choir; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dora Kate Howell lived a rich and purposeful life |
|
|
centered around her faith, her loved ones, and her young students, |
|
|
and she will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew |
|
|
her; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dora Kate Howell and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to her nieces and nephews and to her many |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dora Kate |
|
|
Howell. |
