R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The boys' track and field team from Chapin High |
|
|
School in El Paso won the District 1-4A championship on April 8, |
|
|
2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In capturing their second district title in the past |
|
|
three years, the Huskies benefited from several outstanding |
|
|
performances, most notably in the field events; Brandon Moss won |
|
|
the long and triple jumps, and Josh Jones placed second in both |
|
|
contests; also earning gold was Mario Alvarez in the discus and shot |
|
|
put and Raymond Sottak in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Winning a district championship represents the |
|
|
culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering |
|
|
commitment to excellence, and the members of the Chapin High School |
|
|
track and field team may indeed reflect with pride on this memorable |
|
|
achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Chapin High School boys' track |
|
|
and field team on winning the District 1-4A championship and extend |
|
|
sincere best wishes to the athletes and coaches for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
