R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, After four years of dedicated service, John |
|
|
Trischitti III is stepping down as assistant director of the Riter |
|
|
C. Hulsey Public Library in Terrell in May 2011 to accept a new |
|
|
opportunity; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Trischitti began his affiliation with the |
|
|
library in 2006 when he was elected to the Friends of the Library |
|
|
board; he later served that group as president, and in 2007, he |
|
|
joined the library's staff as assistant director; he is known for |
|
|
his enthusiasm, humor, and can-do approach, as well as for his |
|
|
excellent theatrical skills at story time; particularly |
|
|
knowledgeable about children's literature, he has been a member of |
|
|
the Texas Library Association's Bluebonnet Award selection |
|
|
committee and was instrumental in procuring a Texas Reads grant for |
|
|
the summer reading program from the Texas State Library and |
|
|
Archives Commission; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This native Texan grew up in Lubbock and graduated |
|
|
from Wayland Baptist University with a double major in English |
|
|
literature and journalism; he worked for a number of community |
|
|
newspapers, on a ranch in Wyoming, and with a grocery store chain |
|
|
before joining the Terrell library; with a recently earned master's |
|
|
degree in library science from the University of North Texas in |
|
|
hand, he is leaving to begin a new job as the library director for |
|
|
Midland County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Trischitti is supported |
|
|
by his wife, Diana, and the couple are the proud parents of two |
|
|
children, Jay and Olivia; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, John Trischitti's dedication and professionalism |
|
|
have helped the people of Terrell to further enjoy a treasured |
|
|
community resource, and he may take justifiable pride in the |
|
|
important role he has played in keeping Terrell reading; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor John Trischitti III for his service as the |
|
|
assistant director of the Riter C. Hulsey Public Library and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for success in his new position; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Trischitti as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
